Travelling to Portugal is easy by plane or ferry and there are now cheap flights to both Lisbon and Portugal.
Porto Airport is approx. 150kms, approx. 1 and a half hours away. Ryanair fly cheap flights to here from various UK airports.
Lisbon is approx. 200kms, approx. 2 hrs drive away. Easyjet have cheap flights to here from various UK airports.
Santander and Bibao ferry ports in Northern Spain are approx. a 6 and a half hour drive from Central Portugal.
The road system in Portugal is very good with motorways, some are toll roads, and good main roads. Some of the smaller roads to the mountain villages are less well maintained but the road to Bocado from Arganil is a good, council maintained, tarmac road.
A car is highly recomended for this property.
